My philosophy about education is ever-evolving. I believe that every child can learn, and it is my responsibility as an educator to provide experiences in which my students not only learn the material, but learn to think critically about the world around them. This requires a multitude of considerations: learning styles, classroom environment, developmental stages of the learner, motivation... the list goes on and on. I want to instill in my students what I believe to be a universal truth: we are all lifelong learners. Learning doesn't end when we leave a school setting. It goes on and on in a variety of ways. It is my hope to inspire my students to embrace learning, and to seek out opportunities around them. Teaching and learning is a privilage and an awesome responsibility. I am honored to call it my life's work.
Be open to inspiration.
Inspiration leads to creativity.
Be open to play.
In play we see mistakes
as stepping stones to fulfillment.
Be open to challenges.
Challenges offer us a chance to grow.
Be open to work.
It is in the willingness to labor
that we mature
and find excellence.
